Connecting Kijiji’s New Brand with Users
How Can We Reach Customers More Effectively While Promoting a Fresh Brand Identity?
Kijiji, Canada’s popular online classifieds platform, recently underwent a brand refresh. Inspired by this update and my own passion for sustainability and secondhand shopping, I challenged myself to design a series of social media ad campaigns. The goal was to connect with users emotionally, promote the brand’s convenience, and appeal to a younger audience aged 20–30.
The Process
Lifestyle-Focused Visuals
To create a sense of relatability, I prioritized using lifestyle assets that reflected everyday scenarios, such as finding a new home or buying a car through Kijiji. The intent was to establish an emotional connection with viewers, making them feel as though these ads could represent their own lives.
On-Trend Design for Younger Audiences
I focused on integrating Kijiji’s updated branding with trendy, eye-catching visuals to resonate with younger users. By blending modern design elements with the refreshed brand palette, the ads felt both fresh and aligned with Kijiji’s new identity.
Resourceful Creation
As this was a self-initiated project, I sourced free, high-quality resources—including video clips and music—with appropriate licensing. This approach allowed me to create polished, professional ad concepts while remaining resource-conscious.
